Black grape sorbet

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups washed seedless black grapes
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 0.5 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp vodka (optional, but it helps stabilize the sorbet)

Preparation:

  1. In a blender, puree the grapes, sugar, lemon zest, and juice until smooth. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Cook for 30 seconds, then remove from the heat. Strain the puree through a fine sieve and discard any remaining juice. Stir in the vodka.
  2. Let the mixture cool in the refrigerator, then pour it into an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions, or freeze it in a shallow container in the freezer, stirring every 10-15 minutes.
