topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 110 g butter
  • 1 large onion, cut into half rings
  • 0.7 kg ground beef
  • 5 drops of Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 slices of rye bread
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese

Preparation:

  1. In a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté, stirring occasionally, until golden and softened, 20-25 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, and some salt and black pepper. Form into 4 patties.
  3. In a separate skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Fry the patties on both sides until cooked through.
  4. Assemble the patty melt in the following order: slice of bread, slice of cheese, patty, quarter of a fried onion, another slice of cheese, and another slice of bread.
  5. In a clean, large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and fry the sandwiches until golden brown. Remove them and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet.
  6. Return the sandwiches to the pan, flipping them over. Cook until golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted. Cut in half and serve immediately!
