Ingredients:
- 450 g of ground beef
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, stemmed, seeded and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 can (400 g) of canned chopped tomatoes
- 1 can (400 g) of tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 2/3 cup tomato juice
- A pinch of sugar
- 450 g of pasta horns
Preparation:
- Heat the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for about 1 minute. Then add the ground beef and continue cooking, stirring and breaking up the pieces with a spoon. Cook until the meat is darkened, about 7 minutes. Sprinkle the meat with herbs and black pepper, season with salt to taste, and mix well.
- Add the canned tomatoes with their juices, tomato sauce, paste, and juice. Add sugar to taste. Simmer over low heat while you cook the pasta.
- Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, until al dente. Drain. Toss the pasta with the chop suey. Serve hot.
