topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 12 chicken wings, cut at the joints, discarding the tips
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 cups honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp black and white sesame seeds, for serving

Preparation:

  1. Position an oven rack in the lower third of the oven and preheat to broil. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with the vegetable and sesame oils and season with salt and pepper. Arrange the chicken on the rack over a rimmed baking sheet. Bake the wings, turning every 10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy and cooked through, about 15 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, combine the vinegar and crushed red pepper in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the honey, hoisin sauce, and soy sauce. Transfer to a large bowl. Add the fried wings to the bowl and toss with the honey glaze. Transfer to a platter and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
