topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 1 boneless cooked ham weighing 2.5–3.5 kg.
  • 2 tbsp. cloves
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 can of ginger ale
  • 1/4 cup grainy brown mustard
  • 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C.
  2. Make diamond-shaped cuts on the surface of the ham, approximately 0.3 cm deep. Garnish the surface of the ham with cloves, then place it in a baking dish with a rack, cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  3. Combine honey, ginger ale, mustard, and vinegar in a small saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook until the glaze thickens slightly, 10–15 minutes.
  4. Remove the foil and brush the ham with the glaze. Return it to the oven for 15 minutes. Then brush with glaze again and bake for another 15 minutes. Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest and cool slightly.
