Stained Glass Wreath Cookies topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 tube (450 g) sugar cookie dough
- 1 bag of assorted colored hard candies (recommended: Lifesavers)
- 1 small tube of decorative glaze
- 1 packet of silver dragees
- Special equipment: 24 strings or ribbons 20 cm long.
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 175°C and line 2 baking sheets with silicone baking mats.
- Cut the dough log into 0.5 cm thick slices and place them on prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2.5 cm apart.
- Cut a 2.5 cm diameter hole in the center of each dough circle (using a small cutter). Remove the center and place a lollipop in its place.
- Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the baking sheets from the oven. While the cookies are still hot, use a large straw to poke a hole in the top for the ribbon. Place the baking sheets on a wire rack and let the cookies cool completely.
- Once the cookies have cooled completely, use decorative icing to attach silver candy canes to each wreath. Let the icing set. Insert a ribbon through the hole in the cookie and tie the ends together. Repeat with the remaining cookies. These wreath-shaped cookies can be used as Christmas decorations.
