Traditional festive ham with glazed pineapple

Ingredients:

  • 1 piece of spiral-cut ham
  • 1 can (550 g) pineapple rings (save syrup)
  • 15-20 carnation buds (optional)
  • 1 small jar of candied cherries in liqueur
  • 3/4 tbsp. light brown sugar (compacted)
  • 2 tbsp mustard

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven and bake the ham according to package directions. Remove the ham from the oven 30 minutes before the end of cooking.

    Arrange the pineapple slices attractively on the ham, securing them with cloves or toothpicks, if using. Place a cherry in the center of each pineapple slice and secure with a clove or toothpick.

    In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, mustard, and enough of the reserved pineapple syrup to form a thick glaze. Pour the glaze over the ham and bake for the remaining 30 minutes. Remove the ham from the oven, transfer to a cutting board, and slice.
