Ingredients:

  • 450 g mashed potatoes
  • 450 g raw potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) butter
  • 1 cup thinly sliced ​​onion
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Preparation:

  1. Dry the grated potatoes thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. Saute the onion in butter in a frying pan for 5 minutes until caramelized.
  3. In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with the grated potatoes, forming a dough. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Form potato dough balls and poke a hole in the center of each ball with your finger. Fill the hole with about 1 teaspoon of onion mixture or your favorite filling. Seal the filling inside, making small patties.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Place the flatbreads in the oil a few at a time and reduce the heat to medium. Fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Flip them over and fry until golden brown on the other side, about 3 more minutes.
  7. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess fat.
