Spicy edamame pods

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 bag (450 g) frozen edamame beans in pods (green soybeans)

Preparation:

  1. In a small dry skillet over medium heat, stirring, heat the salt, chili powder and red pepper until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and crumble oregano into the mixture.
  2. Boil the edamame pods in salted water until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain in a colander and pat dry. Toss the edamame pods with the spice mixture and serve warm.
