Steamed artichokes

Preparation:

Place a steamer basket over simmering water with half a lemon, a few sprigs of parsley, and 2 crushed garlic cloves. Trim 4 large artichokes, discarding the stems. Place them evenly in the basket. Cover and simmer over medium heat, adding more water as needed, until tender, about 45 minutes. Serve the artichokes with melted butter for dipping.
