Ingredients:
- 1 package (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1.5 tbsp. apple pie fillings
- Cooking spray to spray the waffle iron
- Special equipment: large waffle iron for square Belgian waffles
Preparation:
- Preheat a large waffle iron.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each into 4 equal squares. To assemble, roll out 1 puff pastry square with a rolling pin to at least a square. Place 3 tablespoons of apple pie filling in the center and fold the dough over to form a triangle. Crimp the edges with a fork. Repeat with the remaining puff pastry squares and apple filling.
- Spray a waffle iron with cooking spray. Place one turnover on each waffle iron plate. Close the lid and cook for 4-5 minutes until dark golden brown. Cook the remaining turnovers in the same manner.
