Cold Eggnog

Ingredients:

  • 6 eggs, yolks separated from whites
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 500 ml heavy cream
  • 2 liters of milk
  • 250 ml bourbon
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • Nutmeg

Preparation:

  1. In one bowl, beat the egg yolks with 1/2 cup sugar until stiff. In another, beat the egg whites with 1/4 cup sugar until stiff peaks form. In a third bowl, beat the cream until stiff and fold it into the yolks. Gently fold in the egg whites, then pour in the milk, bourbon, vanilla, and, if desired, a pinch of nutmeg. Chill in the freezer before serving.
  2. Serve eggnog in a large punch bowl.
